Transfers

Vehicle transfer in California is a process that involves changing ownership of a vehicle from one person to another. To carry out the transfer, the new owner needs to fill out the title, pay a transfer fee and present the original vehicle title signed by the seller. In addition,
an emissions inspection report (smog check) may be required depending on the age and type of vehicle. It is important to follow all instructions provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to ensure the transfer is completed successfully and without unnecessary delay.

NOTE: The emission test (smog check) must be within the 90-day validity period for the transfer to be carried out. Otherwise it needs to be redone.
